Dr. Soroush ZaghiDr. Soroush ZaghiDr. Soroush Zaghi graduated from Harvard Medical School, completed residency in ENT (Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery) at UCLA, and Sleep Surgery Fellowship at Stanford University. He now serves as medical director of The Breathe Institute where the focus of his sub-specialty training is on the comprehensive treatment of nasal obstruction, mouth breathing, snoring, and obstructive sleep apnea in children and adults. He is very active in clinical research with over 97+ peer-reviewed research publications in the fields of neuroscience, head and neck surgery, myofunctional therapy, sleep-disordered breathing, and tongue-tie surgery. Dr. Zaghi is particularly interested in studying the impact of tethered-oral tissues (such as tongue-tie) and oral myofascial dysfunction on maxillofacial development, upper airway resistance syndrome, and obstructive sleep apnea, especially as it relates to pediatric populations. He is an invited lecturer, author, and journal reviewer for topics relating to the diagnosis and management of sleep-disordered breathing and tongue-tie disorders in children and adults.

Dr. Richard BaxterDr. Richard BaxterDr. Richard Baxter is a board-certified pediatric dentist, Fellow of the AAPD, and Diplomate of the American Board of Laser Surgery. He is an internationally-recognized speaker on tongue-ties, instructor of the acclaimed online course Tongue-Tied Academy, and lead author of the bestselling book Tongue-Tied: How a Tiny String Under the Tongue Impacts Nursing, Speech, Feeding, and More. He is passionate about educating parents and healthcare providers about the effects a tongue-tie can have throughout the lifespan. He lives in Birmingham, AL with his wife, Tara, and their three girls, Hannah, Noelle, and Molly. He is the founder of the Alabama Tongue-Tie Center where he uses the CO2 laser to release oral restrictions. He had a tongue-tie himself, and all of his girls were treated as infants, so this field is a personal one. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, running, and outdoor activities. He is a Kindergarten Small Group Leader at the Church at Brook Hills and participates in global missions projects around the world.

Dr. Ralf DorniedenDr. Ralf DorniedenDr. Ralf Dornieden is a highly qualified doctoral osteopath with multiple master's degrees in both general and paediatric osteopathy. Since 2005, he has been running two osteopathy practices in Switzerland together with his wife, Meike. His expertise is vast and includes various approaches, modern fascial research models, and precise assessment and treatment techniques for patients of all ages, ranging from infants to adults.
His career has been marked by continuous professional development, and he has not only excelled as a practitioner but also as an instructor, speaker and researcher. He has a particular interest in breathing and airway, which play a central role in his therapeutic work.
Additionally, he is the organizer and initiator of the Tongue Time 2026 International Tongue-Tie Congress.

Dr. Shereen LimDr. Shereen LimDr. Shereen Lim is a Perth-based dentist with a postgraduate diploma in Dental Sleep Medicine from the University of Western Australia.
Since 2011, she has been involved in the multidisciplinary management of snoring and obstructive sleep apnoea, and her private practice focuses on tongue-tie management from infancy to adulthood, early interceptive orthodontics, and myofunctional therapy.
Dr. Lim is dedicated to promoting airway health from infancy to help minimise the development of sleep-disordered breathing and its associated health impacts. She is the author of Breathe, Sleep, Thrive: Discover How Airway Health Can Unlock Your Child’s Greater Health, Learning, and Potential.
Through international speaking engagements and the facilitation of multidisciplinary conferences, she advances an integrative team approach to optimising airway health and addressing breathing-related challenges

Dr. Justin RocheDr. Justin RocheDr. Justin Roche is a Consultant Paediatrician and IBCLC with over two decades of experience in the field of tongue tie. He has worked as a consultant in hospital and community paediatric settings and together with Kate he founded the National Tongue tie Centre in Ireland of which he is the Medical Director. At the National Tongue Tie Centre the team provides multidisciplinary care to infants, children and adults. They have developed a pathway of care to bring Functional Frenuloplasty to infants and children from 3 months of age. Having historically used scissors, then diode laser, he has spent years refining his CO2 laser skills to advance surgical technique to work with the tissue planes for selective fascial release. Justin has completed extensive post-graduate training in tongue tie, lectures internationally on the topic and has produced courses to share this knowledge.

Kate RocheKate RocheKate Roche is the Clinical Director at the National Tongue Tie Centre in Ireland and leads a team of Therapists and Lactation Consultants to provide the highest quality of rehabilitative care to infants, children and adults with oral dysfunctions. She is a Chartered Physiotherapist, IBCLC and Paediatric Feeding Therapist. Having trained at the University of Liverpool, she worked in both Leeds and Southampton, where she led and delivered the regional neonatal service for pre-term and high-risk infants, before moving to Ireland. She is a member of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists and registered with CORU. Kate has travelled overseas many times over the years to complete further training in Feeding Therapy, Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy and Craniosacral Therapy, and now lectures internationally.

Dr. Raymond J. TsengDr. Raymond J. TsengDr. Raymond J Tseng is a pediatric dentist and owner of the North Carolina Tongue Tie Center for research and clinical practice (Cary, NC, USA). Dr. Tseng was a National Institutes of Health (NIH) funded trainee throughout his professional training and completed his DDS and PhD at The Ohio State University (USA), and post-doctoral research fellowship and pediatric specialty training at the University of North Carolina (USA). Dr. Tseng has actively engaged in clinical research and practice focused on tethered oral tissues (TOTs) for 7 years and is passionate about collaborating with other clinician-scientists to further develop a scientifically sound evidence base to guide TOTs-focused clinical practices. Dr. Tseng is the Chair of the board of directors for the International Consortium for oral Ankylofrenulae Professionals (ICAP), and co-chairs for ICAP’s scientific affairs committee, Committee for Interprofessional Research, Education and Ankyloglossia Science (CIREAS). Dr Tseng is an internationally invited speaker and subject matter expert on ankyloglossia and evidence-based tongue tie research. He holds adjunct faculty/adviser positions at the University of North Carolina (USA), and Curtin University (Perth, WA).

Dr. Marjan JonesDr. Marjan JonesDr Marjan Jones is owner and lead dental surgeon at Enhance Myofunction in Brisbane Australia. In addition to her degrees in Science (physiology) and Dentistry, she holds qualifications as an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and in myofunctional therapy.
With close to 30 years’ experience with dental lasers, and extensive knowledge and experience in treatment of oral myofunctional disorders stemming from oral ties, she has focused her practice toward optimizing the growth and function of the orofacial region. She pioneered a multi-disciplinary approach in Australia to treatment of oral restrictions for patients of all ages in 2013, closely collaborating with bodyworkers, IBCLCs, and therapists working on speech and myofunction.
She co-founded the International Consortium of Ankylofrenula professionals (ICAP) and as the inaugural chairperson, established the foundations of an organisation that continues to propagate best clinical practice and research on the impact of oral ties. She served on the International Association of Tongue Tie Professionals (IATP) for two years and co-founded the Tongue Tie Institute – an organisation dedicated to education about the management of soft tissue dysfunction resulting from oral restrictions through a multi-disciplinary approach.
She is a Fellow of the World Clinical Laser Institute, and a member of multiple associations and academies related to airway health. She is a current reviewer of manuscripts for an international journal.

Dr. Gina WeissmanDr. Gina WeissmanDr. Gina Weissman, graduated from the Hebrew University – Hadassah Medical School – Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD), in 1991. She’s an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, IBCLC, since 1999 and a Registered Nurse. She is a Fellow of the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine, FABM.Dr. Weissman is the owner and director of The Lactation Academy, an international school for the training of lactation consultants and IBCLC mentor. She works in Laniado Maternity Hospital with newborn babies in the delivery room and until discharge. She also works at her Breastfeeding and Tongue Tie Clinic, HalavM. Dr Weissman is the exiting president of the Israeli Association of Lactation Professionals.Dr. Weissman is an experienced keynote speaker, and educator on a national and international level, for lactation consultants, midwives and physicians. She's also a published researcher on several related topics. Dr Weissman is married and the mother of 4 grown breastfed boys. -

Serves as a clinical instructor at the Azrieli Faculty of Medicine (Bar-Ilan University) and the Rappaport Faculty of Medicine (Technion). Focus on integrating breastfeeding medicine into primary care and medical education, as well as multidisciplinary collaboration to support Mother-Infant well-being.

Samantha WeaverSamantha WeaverSamantha has been involved with Myofunctional Sciences since 2009 working in two clinics that specialize in breathing re-education and orofacial myofunctional therapy with children and adults. In addition to being a speech pathologist, she is a director of the Academy of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy (AOMT), whose curriculum leads the area of myofunctional therapy, helping facilitate evidence based research touching on breathing re-education, sleep disorders, TMJ disorders, posture, fascia-release, and frenulum inspection and surgery. She holds two Bachelors (Northwestern University; Performance Studies & Communicative Disorders and Sciences) and a Masters of Science in Communicative Disorders. Samantha is a founding board member of the Academy of Applied Myofunctional Sciences (AAMS), an adjunct professor at Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco.

Dr. Ankita is the first Indian Ambassador from The Breathe Institute with incredible skill developed in performing Functional Frenuloplasty and Laser Tongue Tie Surgeries for infants, children and adults. She had got the opportunity to observe Dr. Soroush Zaghi, a renowned ENT & Sleep Surgeon performs tongue tie surgeries at his practice in Los Angeles.

Joy LantzJoy LantzJoy Lantz, RDH, PHDH, COM, IBCLC has over 30 years of experience in the dental field with a background in dental hygiene. She earned her degree in dental hygiene in 1998. Joy began practicing orofacial myology in 2016 and received her certification in orofacial myology (COM) from the International Association of Orofacial Myology (IAOM) in 2017. She is currently serving as the President of the IAOM. She also earned her title, Certified Breastfeeding Specialist in 2021 and got her International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) credential in 2022. Joy is the owner of Joy Lantz: Transforming Oral Health, specializing in educating patients, parents and colleagues about myofunctional and airway concepts. She is a professional international speaker presenting courses on anticipatory guidance, collaboration for patient care and myofunctional therapy. Joy is also a consultant for dental offices that want to incorporate airway components into their practices, including frenectomy, myofunctional therapy and milestone oral visits. She created the Bee Well milestone program for children aged birth to three for anticipatory guidance for parents and to track oral development in early years. Her passion is to assist dental and medical professionals to work together in screening and treating for oral myofunctional disorders and overall health.

Dr. Kirsten SlagterDr. Kirsten SlagterIn 2007 Kirsten graduated as a dentist at the University of Groningen (cum laude). After graduation she became a scientific researcher at the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery departement of the University Medical Centre Groningen and finished her PhD in 2016. In 2024 she shifted towards the dental departement as researcher. Her area of interest is oral implantology and oral surgery. Based on experience with surgery in children and adults, Kirsten treats babies who have difficulty drinking or eating solid food. She thinks it's important to give babies a good start and also to help children and adults as the best as she can.

Dr. Sharon SmartDr. Sharon SmartDr. Sharon Smart is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Health Sciences, the Curtin School of Allied Health, and Senior Research Fellow at St John of God Hospital. She completed her Bachelor of Science studies in Human Communication Science at Curtin University in 2000, and PhD studies in Human Communication Science at the School of Psychology and Speech Pathology, Curtin University in 2008, and was awarded the Curtin University Aspire Award and Curtin University Teaching Award—Excellence in Teaching in 2020 and Australian Awards for University Teaching—Citation for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning in 2021. Her research interests include ankyloglossia (tongue-tie), orofacial myofunctional therapy for feeding and speech production, infant feeding, and pediatric dysphagia (swallowing difficulties), assessment practices in pediatric dysphagia, and child speech and language.

Dr. Milton GeivelisDr. Milton GeivelisDr. Geivelis is a board-certified periodontal specialist whose practice is limited to Periodontics, Dental Implants, and Laser Surgery. Dr. Geivelis is on staff at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL (Northwestern Medicine). He is on the Advisory Board of the Dental Hygiene Program at Harper College.
Born in Athens, Greece, Dr. Geivelis received his dental and graduate training from Northwestern University. He has a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree, a Master of Science Degree, and a Specialty Degree in Periodontics.
Dr. Geivelis is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology.
From 1993 to 2001, Dr. Geivelis was professor and director of Graduate Periodontics at Northwestern University Dental School, training the residents in Periodontal Surgery and Dental Implants. He has been involved in academic research and has authored and co-authored several scientific articles.
His clinical interests have been in Soft Tissue Grafting, Bone Regeneration procedures and Computer Guided Surgery for the placement of Dental Implants. In the last eleven years however, Dr. Geivelis has dedicated a significant amount of his time to Airway issues and Sleep. He treats infants, children, and adults with tongue-ties and lip-ties (Tethered Oral Tissues-TOTs). He collaborates with some of the most well-known and skilled clinicians in these procedures (Dr. Bobby Ghaheri-ENT, Dr. Larry Kotlow, Dr. Scott Siegel, Dr. Soroush Zaghi-ENT ).
In March 2019 he completed a mini surgical residency in Lingual Functional Frenuloplasty (LFF) with Dr. Soroush Zaghi (ENT), in Los Angeles. He was Dr. Zaghi’s first resident. Since then, he has performed more than 3500 LFF procedures in children and adults, and more than 7000 Frenectomies in infants.
Dr. Geivelis has been instrumental in bringing together an amazing group of Healthcare professionals in the Chicagoland area including Primary Dental Providers, Primary Care Physicians, ENTs, Sleep Medicine Physicians, Orthodontic providers, and Therapists of all types. This group collaborates and follows set protocols in the treatment of all patients, but especially children, for the best possible outcomes.
Dr. Geivelis was named a Chicago area Top Dentist every year since 2010. He lectures on Periodontics, Implants, and Tethered Oral Tissues nationally and internationally. He has been given several academic and clinical awards for his work as a scientist and Periodontal Surgeon.

Sarah HornsbySarah HornsbySarah Hornsby is a registered dental hygienist, orofacial myofunctional therapist, speaker, mentor, and entrepreneur. In 2014, she founded and created MyoMentor, a comprehensive myofunctional therapy training program for healthcare professionals with over 1,500 graduates as of January 2025.
She opened Faceology, her private myofunctional therapy practice, in 2010. Today, it is a thriving telehealth specialty clinic focusing on adult patient populations and complex treatment cases involving sleep apnea and TMD.
Although Sarah has become an international speaker and educator, her journey through recognizing and treating her own orofacial myofunctional symptoms is what makes her so passionate about the field and spreading the message about this critical component of health and overall wellness.
Sarah is an advocate for providers as much as she is for her patients. Her goal is to empower dentists, hygienists, speech-language pathologists, and other healthcare providers to elevate the standards of care by helping their patients through healthy breathing, airway dentistry, myofunctional therapy, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Prof. Dr. Daniela KarallProf. Dr. Daniela KarallDr. Daniela Karall is a pediatrician with specialization in neonatology and pediatric intensive care, neuropediatrics and inherited metabolic disorders. She graduated from the Medical University of Innsbruck, where she works at the Clinic for Pediatrics. She has been working as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) since 2006.
She teaches in neonatology, pediatrics and human lactation for both medical professionals and future lactation consultants in preparation for the international IBCLC exam. Since 2008, she cooperates with Márta Guóth-Gumberger, and tongue-tie and issues around tongue mobility and function have become a special focus of their teaching and research.
Dr. Karall is currently the president of the Austrian Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine (ÖGKJ = “Österreichische Gesellschaft für Kinder- und Jugendheilkunde”). She is deputy director of the Clinic for Pediatrics I in Innsbruck. In clinical work, besides being responsible for the care of children, adolescents and adults with inherited metabolic disorders, she also is considered an expert in diagnosing and treating tongue-tie with scissors frenotomy without suture in all age groups. For her, the care before and after frenotomy and the communication within the interdisciplinary network caring for the affected by tongue-tie is indispensable in the field of tongue mobility and function.

Márta Guóth-GumbergerMárta Guóth-GumbergerMárta Guóth-Gumberger graduated from the Technical University of Munich in civil engineering and worked in Germany and in Sudan. She is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) since 1999. Additionally, she has special trainings for accompanying young parents and babies and as a pre and perinatal somatic practitioner. She runs a private practice as a lactation consultant, family practitioner and pre and perinatal somatic facilitator in Rosenheim, Germany. Her work as IBCLC includes evaluation for impaired tongue mobility and the impact on breastfeeding, with a special interest in the longterm outcome of scissors frenotomy and gentle aftercare on feeding and weight gain. She is also involved in tongue-tie consultations for older children and adults. Since 2008, she cooperates with Dr. Daniela Karall on the topic of tongue-tie, with research and other publications on tongue-tie. She is also involved in ongoing research with her special skills set. Being an experienced speaker and educator on national and international level, she is author of several books and of LACTDOC, a Program for Growth Monitoring of Breastfed Babies, and runs websites in English and German.

Linda D'OnofrioLinda D'OnofrioLinda D’Onofrio, MS, CCC-SLP completed her degree in Communication Disorders at the University of Oregon, her medical externship at the Oregon Health Sciences University Medical Center with a focus on inpatient neurological acute care and outpatient cognitive rehabilitation, and she completed her clinical fellowship at the Oregon VA Medical Center with a focus on dysphagia, aphasia, brain injury, and oral cancer. For 23 years had a private practice in Portland Oregon focusing on craniofacial disorders, oromyofunctional disorders, feeding disorders and dysphagia, and sensory-motor speech disorders. As an adjunct instructor, she has taught graduate courses in oromyofunctional disorders and craniofacial disorders. She has reviewed manuscripts for the Journal of Clinical Pediatric Dentistry, Folia Phoniatrica et Logopaedica, and the Journal of Oral Rehabilitation. Her paper “Oral dysfunction as a cause of malocclusion” in the journal Orthodontics & Craniofacial Research was awarded the most downloaded article for the journal in 2019 and 2020. She has lectured on oral physiology at several universities, including Stanford, Tufts, and the Vienna School for Interdisciplinary Dentistry.

Tine GreveTine GreveTine Greve is a midwife since 1991, IBCLC since 2000 and she has a bachelor in Traditional Chinese Medicine in Acupuncture from 2014. She has a focus on helping mothers preparing for physiologic birth and breastfeeding. She has previously been working in an Alternative Birth Care Centre in Oslo for many years.
She is currently working with counselling breastfeeding women in a multidisciplinary health care centre for mothers and babies where she has specialized in breastfeeding difficulties due to tongue-ties and motoric challenges. She is also a volunteer breastfeeding counsellor for “Ammehjelpen”, the Norwegian Mother-to-Mother support group for breastfeeding counselling (resembling La Leche League).
She has for many years been teaching in educational programs for midwives, NICU-nurses, nurse-assistants, health care visitors etc. on a national level in Norway.
