Trials, Tribulations and Triumphs: Teaming Up for Transformative Tongue Tie Treatment

“Trials, Tribulations and Triumphs: Teaming Up for Transformative Tongue Tie Treatment” is a dynamic, interactive workshop designed to explore the complex journey of tongue tie care through the lens of collaborative practice. Tongue tie treatment is rarely straightforward; it requires navigating clinical challenges, parental concerns, and multidisciplinary coordination of care. This workshop will dive into real-world case studies of infants, children and adults, highlighting both setbacks and successes, emphasising the essential role of communication, shared decision-making, and mutual respect among professionals. Whether you’re a therapist, lactation consultant, dentist, or doctor, this workshop aims to inspire a more unified, patient-centered approach to care across the lifespan.

Learning Objectives:

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify common challenges and barriers in the multidisciplinary management of tongue tie.

  2. Analyse real-life case studies to extract key lessons in clinical decision-making.

  3. Apply principles of family and child-centered care in the tongue tie treatment process.

  4. Create a framework for effective team-based care that supports transformative outcomes for patients and families.
